Nexans Announces Leadership Change at Nexans Morocco

Nexans announces the appointment of Mr. Amine Houssaim as General Manager Business Unit Nexans Northwest Africa & Nexans Morocco, effective immediately, following approval by the Board of Directors.

An energy engineer by training, Amine brings over 20 years of experience in the industrial and energy sectors, with a strong track record in business leadership, industrial operations, energy transition and transformation. He spent more than 16 years with Air Liquide, where he held several senior leadership positions across EMEA, before taking on executive roles within the Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) ecosystem, notably in renewable energy, hydrogen, and industrial decarbonization. Most recently, he served as CEO of INNOVX, a Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) subsidiary, leading the development of innovative and sustainable industrial businesses and ecosystems.

His extensive leadership experience, combined with his strong understanding of the Moroccan industrial and energy landscape and international market dynamics, will support Nexans Northwest Africa's continued development. His appointment ensures continuity and stability, supporting the effective delivery of ongoing operations and strategic projects.

Nexans also announces the appointment of Mr. Noureddine Aouda as Deputy General Manager of Nexans Morocco, alongside his current role as General Manager of Sirmel, a Nexans Morocco subsidiary. Drawing on his extensive experience within Nexans Group, particularly in innovation and digital development, he will work alongside Amine to support the continued development of Nexans Northwest Africa and the delivery of its strategic priorities.

This evolution of the leadership structure follows Ms. Selma Alami’s decision to pursue new opportunities outside the Group, after more than 20 years with Nexans, during which she held several leadership roles, including Managing Director of Nexans North & West Africa.

Under her leadership, Nexans Morocco strengthened its industrial footprint, expanded its operations, and reinforced its position as a key player in electrification and the energy transition, both in Morocco and across West Africa.

Selma Alami will remain a member of the Board of Directors of Nexans Morocco, where she will continue to bring her expertise and support to key strategic projects.
