For more than 35 years Nexans Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc has been admired for its cable making expertise. Because of our drive for excellence in quality of products and passion for innovation, we have established ourselves as the leader and pioneer in the Nigerian market.

Founded in 1966 by Kabelmetal, Hannover, Germany, we are a subsidiary of Nexans S. A. Paris, which is the world leader in the cable industry, with industrial presence in over 30 countries.

The company have its manufacturing facility and Head office located at Ikeja, Lagos and branches at Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Onitsha, and is the largest manufacturer of power, instrumentation and telecommunication cables in the West African sub region.

Benefited by the parent company’s cable making expertise of over 100 years and local manufacturing experience of over 35 years, our company provides the nerves and sinews of the Nigerian economy.

At the beginning of 1980-s the development of cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) low voltage insulated cables opened the door to new market segments including the oil and gas market. The introduction of air field lighting cables and cables with enhanced fire performance features over the following years further strengthened our product range and expanded our customer base of power and telecom utilities, business and residential construction companies and also variuos manufacturing and process industries

Nexans Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc is the largest manufacturer of cables in the West Africa Sub Saharan region. The company has its manufacturing facility and Head office located at Ikeja Industrial Estate, Lagos and branches at Enugu, Onitsha, Portharcourt and Abuja.

Founded in 1973 by Kabelmetal, Hannover, Germany, it is now a subsidiary of Nexans S.A Paris, which is the world leader in the cable industry, with industrial presence in more than 39 countries and commercial activities in worldwide. Nexans employs 22,700 people and had sales in 2009 of 5 billion euros.

Our company is the first cable manufacturer to be ISO 9000 certified in Nigeria. We are also the first Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) Gold Award winner for cables. Our products are in conformance to IEC standards, Nigerian Industrial Standards and BS standards for some specific products.
