NOCACO: NORTHERN CABLE PROCESSING AND MANUFACTURING COMPANY LIMITED
NOCACO was incorporated in June 1978.
Production started in July 1980 with the aim of supplying vehicles plants with locally made cable harnesses and to satisfy the Nigeria market with all kinds of electric cables and wires. Due to its technical nature, the Company equity shares distributed 40% to Nigeria Shareholders and 60% to the Nexans Deutschland Industries AG & Co, Hanover, Germany as contained in schedule III of the Enterprises Promotin Decree.
The Board of Director has Mallam D.H Abdu as the Chairman while Mr. E.H Schnare is the Managing Director. Starting with strength of 96 in 1980. The Company now employs over 240 staff. Today, NOCACO is recognized as the important and No. 1 Cable Manufacturer in the Northern part of the Country producing in accordance with National and International Standards and to specific customers’ requirements.
The product range of NOCACO is approximately 300 difference types of Cable. It includes the ordinary wiring cables, conduit cables, Insulated Aluminum service cables, Aluminum Overhead lines, both bare and steel reinforces. Copper underground cables (armoured and non-armoured) as well as flexible cables, cords and drop wire for Telecommunication purpose.
In the area of quality, NOCACO place a high premium on the quality of its product, as it designs and produces high quality products in line with National and Internationals Standards i.e. Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS). British Standard (BS) and German Industrial Standards (VDE, DIN) and to specific customers’ requirements.
NOCACO carries rigorous Quality Control tests on its products at every stage of the production processes rather than at the final inspection, so that its high standards are maintained throughout of the full length of the conductor or cable.
As proof of high quality, NOCACO is an NIS Gold Award Winner on PVC insulated (Non-Armoured) Single and Multi-Core Cables and Aluminum Overhead Line.
Furthermore, the capacity of NOCACO to produce very high quality cables that meet National and International Standards at costs that represent value at all times, has culminated in ability to be first Cable Manufacturer in the North to design, install and implement a quality system which has been certified according to the requirements of International Organization for Standardization otherwise known as ISO 9001: 2008. This is the quality system, which aims at achieving Total Quality Management (TQM), in the areas of production installation and servicing.
NOCACO, being the first cables manufacturers in the North, is located in the heart of Northern State of Nigeria - Kaduna.
