ALUMINIUM CONDUCTORS:
Bare Aluminium, Overhead line conductor is an all-aluminium conductor, formed by one or more layers of aluminium wire of equal nominal diameter.it is an industrial metal having the greatest conductivity,but its conductivity decreases rapidly with the impurities in the metal.
For this, aluminium of only highest purity, 99.5% minimum is used for conductors,which equally provides maximum resistance to corrosion.
Application
it is used in low voltage lines,and sometime on lines up to 66KV with relatively short span distribution schemes, as flexible busbar connection in high voltage
Breaking strength, 150N/mm2 to 200N/mm2
Elongation 0.8 - 2.5%
